Cisco Israel CEO promoted to global headquarters

Boaz Maoz is moving to San Jose and it is not yet known who will replace him.

Boaz Maoz, who has been CEO of Cisco Israel for the past six years, is being appointed a senior executive in the global headquarters of Cisco Systems. Maoz will move to San Jose in the near future; it is not yet known who will replace him. It is believed that Maoz will lead strategic initiatives and projects at the corporate level.

While he managed Cisco's branch in Israel, the company's workforce quadrupled. Cisco currently has almost 2,000 employees in Israel. During Maoz's term, the company invested $1 billion in development and acquisitions in Israel.

One of Cisco's prominent deal in Israel was in 2013, when it acquired Intucell for $475 million. In 2012, Cisco acquired NDS, then owned by foreign investors, for $5 billion.

Cisco, one of the world's largest technology companies, is traded at a $145 billion market cap.

Maoz said today, "Cisco's success in Israel is made possible by its exceptional staff, a group of talented and creative people motivated for success and with pride in their unit. With me, they have led the way to the impressive achievements of recent years. I want to thank Cisco Israel's business partners and customers for the long period of business cooperation and success. I will represent Israel with pride in the company headquarters in San Jose in order to preserve our achievements and increase them."
