The Israeli education startup uses games to teach children how to program.

Credit Suisse named CodeMonkey as the winner of its Pitching Ring Award 2015 at the company's second High-Tech Forum in Tel Aviv.

CodeMonkey is an education startup creating entertaining ways to teach children to program. "Coding is an international language, the language of the future, and we see great importance in endowing it to the next generation", said Credit Suisse Israel CEO Doron Averbuch.

The startup was awarded a one year scholarship from the multinational financial conglomerate during which they will participate in one of the Swiss firm's global investment conferences, receive coaching lessons from Credit Suisse experts, and have the opportunity to apply for a $250,000-500,000 investment from OurCrowd, the bank's partner in his endeavor.

OurCrowd General Partner Yori Nelken said: "As one of the most active seed investors in Israel today, we were proud to join forces with Credit Suisse in this event. Together we were successful in reaching the finest accelerators and incubators in Israel, and in short order lined up some of Israel's top talent."

CodeMonkey was founded in 2014 in Tel Aviv and later expanded to New York. Its early investors included Newschools Ventures, Zynga, and the Center for Educational Technology. The coding game has been used by more than 1.3 million users thus far, generating revenue in several countries across the world.

"After successes in several education-focused events, winning this cross sector competition is particularly significant for us and it’s great to know that our social impact played a major part in being chosen," said CodeMonkey VP of Business Development Yishai Pinchover.
