The Presidential candidate and former Knesset Speaker also owns two apartments in Jerusalem.

Presidential candidate Dalia Itzik today published on her Facebook page a detailed declaration about her financial situation. The statement follows reports in recent days that Itzik owns three apartments.

She explained how she came to own two of them while she still served as a Knesset Member. She wrote, "Dear friends as somebody who believes in the importance of the role of the President and its moral authority, I have always believed that the President must work with transparency and set an example.

She added that she had instructed her accountant to prepare her latest declaration of wealth for publication and proposed that all the other Presidential candidates do the same.

Itzik's declaration showed that she has jewelry worth NIS 161,000, furnishings worth NIS 444,000, and two second-hand cars worth NIS 74,000 together.

Itzik recalled that she and her husband had worked hard all their lives and lived in a modest Jerusalem apartment until 2009. In 2009, they bought a second apartment in Jerusalem for NIS 923,000 from their advanced study fund.

Last year they decided to sell that apartment in order to buy an apartment in Tel Aviv for NIS 4.6 million. In order to buy the apartment in Tel Aviv, they used NIS 500,000 from her father-in-law, NIS 450,000 from a pension fund amendment, NIS 750,000 from a loan from Itzik's brother, NIS 1 million from their life's savings and a NIS 1.9 million mortgage from Bank Leumi (TASE: LUMI) Ramat Gan branch, part of which will be repaid when the Jerusalem apartment is finally sold.

She said, "All the documents will be submitted as part of the declaration of wealth."
