Nissan Slomiansky wants homes VAT exemption bill to be a temporary order.

Knesset Finance Committee Chairman MK Nissan Slomiansky (Jewish Home) said in a stormy Knesset discussion today on the plan for 0% VAT on new homes for first time buyers, "I'll ask that the law will become a temporary order."

He added that the significance of a temporary order is that it will be possible to cancel the order at any given moment in contrast to having to repeal a law and all that that involves.

MKs wanted today's debate in the Knesset Finance Committee to be cancelled before it got going because no Ministry of Finance officials were present and it is still unclear where the funds for the plan will come from.
