Former TA District Attorney arrested in Fisher affair

Adv. Ruth Blum-David joined Fisher's law firm as a senior partner, and represented him in the current investigation.

Former Tel Aviv District Attorney for criminal matters Ruth Blum-David was arrested yesterday by investigators of the Department of Internal Police Investigations on suspicion of involvement in the Ronel Fisher affair.

Blum-David joined Adv. Ronel Fisher's law firm as a senior partner in 2012, after 33 years of public service in the Tel Aviv District Attorney's office. When Fisher came under suspicion and was arrested, she served as his lawyer, and represented him in the investigation.

Blum-David was questioned on suspicion of obstruction of justice and corruption in the affair. Among other things, the police suspect that Blum-David attempted to obstruct the investigation by coordinating testimony, and allegedly acting as Fisher's messenger when he was under arrest and during the investigation, when he was enjoined from speaking or meeting with those involved in the case.

The Ronel Fisher affair is supplying more allegedly incriminating information almost every day about senior and well-known economic figures. According to the suspicions, some of Fisher's clients paid for services that allegedly went beyond legal representation - he allegedly managed a network for providing confidential information about investigations taking place and giving bribes to close down investigations.
