Ayit Aviation and Tourism has begun twice weekly flights, with special offers for residents of northern Israel.

A new flight route connecting Israel from north to south was launched on Thursday, flying passengers from Rosh Pina to Eilat. The flights are operated by Ayit Aviation and Tourism, which established the Rosh Pina-Tel Aviv route in 2006.

The Eilat flight will run twice weekly at a cost of NIS 430 for a one-way ticket and NIS 750 for a round-trip ticket to northern Israel residents with a stop at Sde Dov Airport in Tel Aviv. The company plans to increase the frequency in April ahead of Passover and the summer season to three times a week.

The route will be active on Sundays and Thursdays (and Tuesdays starting in April): the outbound flights to Eilat will takeoff in the mornings and the return trips to Rosh Pina will take place in the afternoons.

The trip will last 80 minutes, with the plane stopping in Sde Dov to let passengers flying to Tel Aviv disembark. The itinerary will be flown by a Short 360 with a 30-passanger capacity.

For non-residents of northern Israel defined in the promotion as Karmiel to the Golan Heights a one-way ticket will cost NIS 450, with no discount for a roundtrip purchase. As part of the launch, Ayit introduced hotel and flight bundles starting at NIS 1,600 (NIS 1,400 for northern residents) for three-night weekend getaways at 4/5 star hotels part of the company’s cooperation with Talma Tourism (and Dan Fattal Hotels and Astral Hotels).

Ayit will also offer a package with three-night stays at the Hilton Queen of Sheba, starting at NIS 2,200 for all Israelis and NIS 2,000 for northern residents.

The company intends to establish another route to Masada to offer vacation packages to the Dead Sea, Mitzpe Ramon, and Beersheva and an international line from Haifa to Paphos, Cypruss. The new lines are part of the expansion permitted by the purchase of a twin-engine jet, the 50-passenger Embraer 145, which will join the fleet in May.

The new investments the jet purchase and the authorization for the Rosh Pina-Eilat route cost the company NIS 12 million.
