The maximum price of 95 octane gasoline at self-service pumps will rise to NIS 5.96 on September 1.

On September 1 (midnight Wednesday night), the maximum price of 95 octane gasoline at self-service pumps will rise by NIS 0.27 per liter, to a price of NIS 5.96 (including VAT). This constitutes a 4.75% rise from August.

There will be no change to the NIS 0.19 charge for receiving full-service at pumps from gas station attendants.

Gasoline prices were affected by the 14% rise in oil prices in August, and the dollar weakening by 1.04% against the shekel. 67% of the price of a liter of gasoline will consist of taxes (excise and VAT).

The maximum price of 95 octane gasoline at self-service pumps in Eilat where no VAT is charged will be NIS 5.09, a rise of NIS 0.23 from August (4.73%). There will be no change to the NIS 0.16 charge for receiving full-service at pumps from gas station attendants

The gasoline itself costs only NIS 1.43 per liter, just 24% of the overall consumer price. However, the excise, one Israel's most aggressive indirect taxes, is NIS 3.04 per liter, 51% of the consumer price.
