However, the maximum price of 95 octane gasoline at self-service pumps in Israel in December will remain under NIS 6.00.

The maximum price of 95 octane gasoline at self-service pumps in Israel will rise slightly by NIS 0.03 per liter, from NIS 5.96 to NIS 5.99 on December 1 - a rise of 0.5%. The full-service charge of an extra NIS 0.19 (including VAT) per liter will remain unchanged. In Eilat, where no VAT is charged, the maximum price of 95 octane gasoline at self-service pumps will also rise on Monday at midnight by NIS 0.03 per liter to NIS 5.12.

This will end four-straight months in which prices fell to the lowest price since 2009. High taxation keeps the price relatively high for drivers with 66% of the amount paid for fuel going to the government.

The price of fuel in Israel is set according to the price in the last four days of the month at Lavera in France. In the middle of November, there had been expectations of another fall in gasoline prices in December but these hopes were dashed by a rise in world oil prices in the second half of the month.
