The Ministry of Finance and the Histadrut will negotiate over the future of group long-term care insurance plans.

Histadrut (General Federation of Labor in Israel) chairman Avi Nissenkorn and Minister of Finance Moshe Kahlon have reached agreement in the dispute over the decision by Commissioner of Capital Markets, Insurance and Savings Dorit Salinger to abolish group long-term care insurance plans. The declaration of a labor dispute in the Israeli economy has thus been averted.

As estimated in "Globes" yesterday, the Ministry of Finance has begun to retreat from its intention of abolishing workplace long-term care insurance plans. It now emerges that the sides have decided to defer implementation of the measure by a year, during which the Ministry of Finance and the Histadrut will negotiate an alternative.
