Passengers can travel together in a taxi and split the fare equally, while paying by credit card.

Israeli startup Gett (formerly GetTaxi) is launching a new service today in line with the trend towards cooperative economics. The taxi app company will enable a number of passengers to travel together in a taxi, with all of the passengers paying by credit card. Gett's new feature will still work even if one of the passengers has not yet downloaded the company's application.

During the journey, the passengers can click on the share option, and provide the following particulars to the liaison person: location, route, driver's particulars, etc. At the conclusion of the journey, the system will divide the payment equally among all those in the taxi, without the use of cash to balance out the payments.

Gett launched its credit card payment option in 2012. The company's application allows passengers to pay for trips at the push of a button, without paying a commission. According to the company's figures, 65% of its private trips are paid for by credit card (the company is also active in the institutional market).

Founded in 2010, Gett has since raised over $200 million. "Globes" chose the company as one of the most promising startups in 2014.

The company said, "Gett is working day and night to simplify the daily processes for its customers, as it did when it launched its now popular delivery service, the deployment of which will soon be deployed nationally. Splitting payment among the passengers will also be nationally deployed. "
