Hamas has unilaterally declared a 24-hour humanitarian cease-fire starting at 2 pm. The Palestinian announcement came after Israel had acceded to a UN request yesterday for a cease-fire till midnight, but Hamas kept firing rockets. The IDF decided to wait and see if Hamas honored the truce it had proclaimed and would stops firing over the Negev and southern Israel. Initial signs were not good with Hamas continuing rocket fire after 2 pm.
