The mimimum wage will now rise in four installments to NIS 5,300 by December 2017.

The Histadrut (General Federation of Labor in Israel) and the Federation of Israeli Employers have announced changes in the framework agreement to raise Israel's minimum wage.

Histadrut chairman Avi Nissenkorn and Federation of Israeli Employers chairman Shraga Brosh have agreed that the minimum salary will again be 47.9% of Israel's average salary of NIS 9,400 rather than the 51.9% agreed earlier this year.

In exchange, the employers have agreed to a fourth installment, which will eventually raise the minimum salary to NIS 5,300 in December 2017. This is in addition to the previously agreed three installments. The minimum monthly salary will rise this Wednesday April 1 to NIS 4,650 and then to NIS 4,825 in July 2016, and to NIS 5,000 in January 2017.
