IAI opens Singapore R&D cyber center

Singaporean specialists will develop innovative cyber early warning technologies.

Israel Aerospace Industries Ltd. (IAI) (TASE: ARSP.B1) and the Singapore government today unveiled the company's Cyber Early Warning R&D Center in Singapore. The center will employ Singaporean research scientists, computer analysts, and engineers to develop innovative cyber early warning technologies.

The Cyber Early Warning R&D Center is modeled on IAI's cyber-accessibility center in Israel, with the goal of tackling complex cyber problems. It will develop prototypes for cyber early warning solutions, mature prototypes into fully-fledged customer-grade solutions, and market the solutions in Singapore and other countries. The center will closely cooperate with IAI to ensure that its R&D roadmap coincides with the company's development roadmap, strategy and long-term goals. Initial research will focus on critical and emerging areas, including, but not limited to active defense capabilities to identify cyber attackers in real time, cyber geo-location resolution to identify the physical location of cyber attackers, and advanced anomaly detection capabilities to identify deviations from routine behavior.

The center will employ mainly Singaporeans, and has a mandate to build up local capability by cooperating with local and international academic and research centers. "We are excited and honored to have the support of the Singapore Economic Development Board for the establishment of our cyber early warning R&D center in Singapore," said IAI CEO Joseph Weiss. "We consider the cyber domain to be critical to our customers and expect cyber-related programs to further evolve into a significant part of IAI's unique offerings."

"We warmly welcome Israel Aerospace Industries' decision to establish its Cyber Early Warning R&D Center in Singapore," said Singapore Economic Development Board managing director Yeoh Keat Chuan. "An increasing number of companies such as IAI are developing new cyber security solutions and capabilities in Singapore to address the growing threat of cyber attacks on corporations and governments. Our strong connectivity to regional markets, access to a diverse talent pool and a reputation as a trusted location will enhance these companies' abilities to serve the growing demand in Asia for such solutions."
