Israeli cyber security co Cymmetria raises $9m

The Tel Aviv based startup has developed software that lures hackers into cyber traps placed in organizations’ networks.

Israeli cyber security startup Cymmetria Inc. has closed its series A financing round with an investment led by US based Sherpa Ventures. The "Wall Street Journal" estimates the amount raised at $9 million, bringing the Tel Aviv-based company's total funding to $10.5 million.

Cymmetria has developed software that lures hackers into cyber traps placed in organizations’ networks. Deceiving hackers to catch them is a new trend in cyber security as Israeli developers now go on the offensive. Cymmetria generates decoy servers which copy an enterprises real networks without endangering operations or surrendering real data.

The company was founded by Gadi Evron, Dean Sysman, Ran Harel and Imri Goldberg.
