The new funding will be used to expand to additional platforms such as Android.

Israeli company Docady, which has developed an app for critical documents, today announced $1.5 million of seed funding from a group of leading investors including Pitango Venture Capital, Disrupt-ive by Tal Barnoach, Eilon Tirosh and former AOL video execs. The new funding will be used to expand to additional platforms such as Android and continue enhancing the Docady app with new features and services designed to not only make critical documents more accessible and secure, but to enable add-on services that make these documents work for the user.

Docady CEO and cofounder Nadav Naaman said, “We’ve seen an amazing response from users since launching, confirming that Docady is answering a real pain point that hasn’t been addressed thus far. Docady already brings our users unprecedented access to the information they need most, when they need it, without needing to sacrifice security. But a document is more than just a piece of paper, it’s data that can help us ensure we are ready for all life’s unexpected moments and can be utilized to drive services that help us avoid waiting in line and streamline processes that used to take hours or even days. Our goal is to use this funding to build out our service to truly make our documents work for us.”

Launched in May 2015, Docady helps users stay in control of their most important documents by gathering all of a person’s critical paperwork in one secure app, and then providing a host of features to ensure they can access, manage and interact with those documents easily.

Disrupt-ive's Tal Barnoch said, “Despite the fact that paperwork and documents are an integral part of our lives, the way we manage and deal with them hasn’t fundamentally changed. Docady is changing the way we view digital documents by unlocking the potential of the data within them."

The app offers a unique document discovery feature, which helps users collect existing digitized documents from online storage accounts and email. Once documents are in the app, Docady leverages SmartDoc intelligence to process the dumb image of the digital document and extract relevant data, allowing it to keep users up to date with upcoming deadlines by sending push notifications in plenty of time to take care of renewals.

Moving forward, the company plans to debut anti-hassle software to enable users to handle all their bureaucratic needs through Docady in one simple click.

Docady CTO and cofounder Nadav Weizmann said, “We believe that notifying you of upcoming deadlines is only the first step to making your life easier. It’s not about digitizing documents but about transforming the way we deal with our bureaucratic lives. Behind every document is an entire marketplace of services, and incorporating legal or financial services into our offering will be the logical next step for us.”
