The Israeli government headed by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has recently approved a plan to build a new Prime Minister's residence and offers at an investment of NIS 650 million, "Yediot Ahronot" reports today. A similar plan was first proposed in 2009 but then scrapped as being "too grandiose." Changes have been made to the latest plan but the cost is on the same scle. The new Israeli prime minister's residence and offices in Jerusalem will be built in the national precinct, which already contains the Knesset, Supreme Court, Bank of Israel and government offices including the current Prime Minister's Office and the Foreign Ministry.
