Mirilashvili bids in NIS 150m solar energy tender

Azrieli unit Supergas is selling 12 solar energy fields.

Sources inform ''Globes'' that Georgian-Jewish billionaire Mikhael Mirilashvili is bidding in the tender to buy solar fields from a target=new href=http://www.supergas.co.il/?CategoryID=194 >Supergas Ltd.. He is mostly known in the energy business for the failure in the Myra and Sarah wells, in which he was a partner with Ofer Nimrodi, the controlling shareholder in Israel Land Development Company (TASE: ILDC).

Supergas is a subsidiary of Granite Hacarmel Investments Ltd., a unit of Azrieli Group Ltd. (TASE: AZRG). It published a tender for the sale of 12 solar energy fields for NIS 150 million. The mid-sized fields have a capacity of around 20 megawatts. The estimated price is derived from NIS 157 million that Enlight Renewable Energy Solutions Ltd. (TASE:ENLT) and Noy Infrastructure and Energy Investment Fund paid last year for its acquisition of two 20-megawatt solar energy fields at Talme Bilu and Mivtachim.

Enlight is also bidding in the Supergas tender, as are Sun Team Group Ltd. (TASE: SNTG), and Helios Energy Investments Ltd The tender is registering the bidders.
