The Tel Aviv Stock Exchange rose slightly today. The Tel Aviv 35 Index rose 0.05% to 1,432.49 points; the Tel Aviv 125 Index rose 0.04%, to 1,303.99 points; and the BlueTech Global Index rose 0.59% to 381.40 points. The TelBond 20 corporate bond index rose 0.04% to 334.10 points. Trading turnover was NIS 1.41 billion.
On the foreign currency market, the Bank of Israel set the shekel-dollar representative rate down 0.332% from Friday's rate at NIS 3.598/$, and the representative shekel-euro rate was set up 0.589% at NIS 3.945/€.
On the market, Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (NYSE: TEVA; TASE: TEVA) rose 1.31% on the day's biggest trading turnover, following yesterday's strong gains. Frutarom Industries Ltd. (TASE: FRUT; LSE:FRUT; OTCBB:FRUTF) rose 1.89% for the biggest rise on the Tel Aviv 35 Index today. Bank Leumi (TASE: LUMI) rose 1.18%, Bank Hapoalim (TASE: POLI) rose 0.70% and Mizrahi Tefahot Bank (TASE:MZTF) rose 1.69% following strong financial results. However, Israel Discount Bank (TASE: DSCT) fell 1.32%, despite reporting a 70% rise in profit.
Gazit-Globe Ltd. (NYSE: GZT; TASE: GZT; TSX: GZT) fell 1.85% and Opko Health Inc. (NYSE: OPK; TASE: OPK) fell 1.83%. Big Shopping Centers (2004) Ltd. (TASE:BIG) fell 1.81%. Delek Group Ltd. (TASE: DLEKG) fell 0.95%, and its energy units Avner Oil and Gas LP (TASE: AVNR.L) and Delek Drilling LP (TASE: DEDR.L) fell 1.61% and 2.21% respectively, the latter being the biggest fall on the Tel Aviv 35 index today.
