Rami Levy told "Globes" that he wants to bring his discount revolution to neighborhood stores.

Rami Levy Chain Stores Hashikma Marketing 2006 Ltd. (TASE:RMLI) controlling shareholder Rami Levy has respondent to today's stay-of-proceedings for Israeli supermarket chain Mega by telling "Globes" that he is considering buying the troubled company.

He told "Globes," "We examined a possible purchase in the past and we are continuing to examine it now. If we buy Mega, we'll buy it all."

Globes: And if it's not possible to buy the entire chain, will you try to buy some of the branches?

He said, "If the Israel Antitrust Authority head does not approve us buying the entire Mega chain, then we'll consider buying part of it."

However, Levi stressed, "If we indeed buy Mega, my aim is to move into the neighborhoods and move into the cities and bring about a revolution - to bring my discount strategy to the neighborhood branches where the captive customers are old people and students, and lower the price of the basket of products that they buy."
