Rishon Lezion has highest average household income

The Central Bureau of Statistics surveyed household income and expenditure in Israel's 14 largest cities.

The average monthly household net income in Israel is NIS 14,622 and the average consumer expenditure is NIS 11,681, according to a survey of Israel's 14 largest cities by the Central Bureau of Statistics.

In every Israeli city net income was higher that consumer expenditure. The biggest gap between net income and consumer expenditure was in Petah Tikva - NIS 5,383 and the smallest gap was in Jerusalem - NIS 917. Of the 14 cities, Rishon Lezion residents had the highest average monthly net household income of NIS 17,786 and Tel Aviv-Jaffa had the highest monthly consumer expenditure of NIS 12,796. Bat Yam had the lowest net household income and consumer expenditure of NIS 10,519 and NIS 8,373 respectively.

Rishon Lezion residents had the highest overall monthly expenditure of NIS 16,235 per month while Tel Aviv residents spent NIS 15,711 and Bat Yam was lowest with NIS 10,740.

The survey in 2013 encompassed a representative sample of 9,507 households out of 2.3 million households in Israel.

The survey found that Tel Aviv-Jaffa residents had the highest per capita net income and consumer expenditure of NIS 7,273 and NIS 5,822 respectively while Bnei Brak had the lowest with NIS 2,546 and NIS 2,225 respectively.
