Israel Airport Authority workers are protesting the Ministry of Finance's decision to charge royalties.

Intensified sanctions have affected incoming passengers at Ben Gurion Airport, with customs personnel deliberately stopping everyone and checking them individually, thereby creating lines. The lines lengthened, and the incoming passengers reacted with impatience.

Only at 1:30 PM did Histadrut (General Federation of Labor in Israel) chairman Avi Nissenkorn order the sanctions to be halted.

"Despite's the state's unilateral action, all the sanctions at Ben Gurion Airport were halted at the instructions of Histadrut chairman Avi Nissenkorn," the Histadrut stated.

Last month, Ben Gurion airport workers suddenly went off the job, severely disrupting flight timetables. Israel Airport Authority workers are protesting the Ministry of Finance's decision to charge NIS 700 million in royalties on the Authority's intake.

Nissenkorn was also responsible for halting the sanctions on the previous occasion. He declared a work dispute yesterday, enabling the Histadrut to call a general strike in two weeks. Nissenkorn is demand that the minimum wage be raised to NIS 5,300.
