The new Beit Kama Interchange replaces the heavily congested Beit Kama traffic lights.

On Friday another new southern section of the Cross-Israel Highway (Road 6) was opened. The new section includes the Beit Kama Interchange, which will replace the heavily congested traffic light at the Beit Kama Junction on Road 40. The project cost NIS 160 million. Later this week an additional new section of the highway between the new Rahat Interchange and Lahavim East will open linking Roads 40 and 31.

Both these new sections are part of a 30 kilometer stretch of Road 6 being built between Beit Kama and the Shoket Junction in the Negev. This section of Road 6, like the sections immediately to the north, are toll free.

Progress has also been made on Road 6's northern extension with financing secured for the section from Yokneam to the Somekh Junction.
