Sun: Banks keep Tel Aviv 25 in positive territory

Frutarom and the banks posted gains today on a flat market as Israel Chemicals fell.

The Tel Aviv Stock Exchange was mixed today. The Tel Aviv 25 Index rose 0.09%, to 1,562.95 points; the Tel Aviv 100 Index fell 0.10%, to 1,345.58 points; and the BlueTech Index fell 0.54% to 340.99 points. The TelBond 20 corporate bond index fell 0.22%, to 314.79 points. Turnover totaled NIS 481.6 million.

On Friday, the Bank of Israel set the shekel-dollar representative rate up 0.232% from Thursday's rate at NIS 3.889/$, and the representative shekel-euro rate was set up 0.233%, at NIS 4.129/€.

On the market, Frutarom Industries Ltd. (TASE: FRUT; LSE:FRUT; OTCBB:FRUTF) rose 2.07% for the biggest rise on the Tel Aviv 25 Index. Bezeq Israeli Telecommunication Co. Ltd. (TASE: BEZQ) rose 1.37%.

Bank Leumi (TASE: LUMI) rose 0.65% and Bank Hapoalim (TASE: POLI) rose 0.99%. Israel Discount Bank (TASE: DSCT) rose 0.87% and Mizrahi Tefahot Bank (TASE:MZTF) rose 1.07%.

Israel Chemicals (TASE: ICL: NYSE: ICL) fell 1.77% for the biggest fall on the Tel Aviv 25 Index today and parent company Israel Corporation (TASE: ILCO) fell 1.29%. Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (NYSE: TEVA; TASE: TEVA) fell 0.69% on the day's biggest trading turnover and Gazit-Globe Ltd. (NYSE: GZT; TASE: GZT; TSX: GZT) fell 1.77%. Strauss Group Ltd. (TASE:STRS) fell 1.01%.
