Wed: Israel Chemicals boosts market

Israel Chemicals rose sharply, Bezeq recouped some losses, and Teva fell.

The Tel Aviv Stock Exchange (TASE) rose today. The Tel Aviv 25 Index rose 0.09% to 1,451.74 points, the Tel Aviv 100 Index rose 0.09% to 1,295.99 points, but the BlueTech 50 Index fell 0.55% to 303.43 points. Turnover was NIS 1.12 billion.

In the foreign currency market, the Bank of Israel set the shekel-dollar representative exchange rate at NIS 3.838/$, down 0.078% on yesterday's rate, and set the shekel-euro representative exchange rate at NIS 4.813/€, up 0.198%.

In the bond market, both long-term Shahar unlinked shekel government bonds and long term Galil CPI-linked government bonds fell. The corporate bond benchmark Tel-Bond 20 Index fell 0.09%.

In the stock market, Israel Chemicals Ltd. (NYSE: ICL; TASE: ICL) rose 1.87% on the day's largest trading turnover and parent company Israel Corporation (TASE: ILCO) rose 0.31%.

Cellcom Israel Ltd. (NYSE:CEL; TASE:CEL) rose 2.72% for the largest rise on the Tel Aviv 25 Index, while Bezeq Israeli Telecommunication Co. Ltd. (TASE: BEZQ) ended its bad streak, rising 1.06%. Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (NYSE: TEVA; TASE: TEVA) fell 0.99% for the biggest fall on the Tel Aviv 25 Index but Perrigo Company (NYSE:PRGO; TASE:PRGO) rose 1.16%.

Azrieli Group Ltd. (TASE: AZRG) and First International Bank of Israel (TASE: FTIN) rose 1.15% and 1.45% respectively after reporting strong results for the third quarter of 2014.
