Dr. Alan Greenspan, Chairman, Federal Reserve Board (1987-2006)
For five terms encompassing 18 years, Alan Greenspan served as Chairman of the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System. He also served as Chairman of the Federal Open Market Committee, the System’s principal monetary policymaking body. From 1974 to 1977, he served as Chairman of the President’s Council of Economic Advisers under President Ford, and from 1981 to 1983, as Chairman of the National Commission on Social Security Reform. Before his appointment to the Federal Reserve Board, Dr. Greenspan served as a director of numerous corporations, including J.P. Morgan & Co., Inc.; Mobil Corporation; Aluminum Company of America (Alcoa); and Capital Cities/ ABC, Inc. Dr. Greenspan heads Greenspan Associates, a consulting firm in Washington, DC.

Umberto Vattani, President of ICE Italian Institute for Foreign TradeAmbassador Umberto Vattani was born in Skopje, Macedonia in 1938. After studies in France, the UK and the US with a Fulbright Scholarship - he graduated cum laude from Rome University in Law and Political Sciences. After work at Banca d’Italia, he began his career in diplomacy in 1962. He was Ambassador to Germany between 1992 and 1996, and was appointed for the second time Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in January 2004.
