New poll shows Kadima winning 52 Knesset seats

The poll, conducted by Maagar Mochot, gives the Likud 21 seats, and Labor only 12.

Prof. Ytzhak Katz of Maagar Mochot has published a public opinion poll that shows the Kadima party winning 52 Knesset seats. The forecast is based on those who said that they would definitely vote.

The figure were published in a discussion of political marketing at the Tel Aviv University Faculty of Management's Executive Education School (LAHAV), conducted in cooperation with "Globes". The poll shows the Likud winning 21 Knesset seats, and the Labor Party 12 seats.

The poll caused a storm among campaign managers of the large parties. Katz was the only one to correctly predict results in the past six months. Since the figures were published, he noted that the poll included only those who said they were positive that they were going to vote on election day. This group constitutes only 60% of those who are actually expected to vote.

The figures show a significant different in the size of the basic core of support for each of the major parties.
