MCS to supply 1,100 anti-clotting devices to Cleveland Clinic

The company predicts $1 million a year in current sales of its disposal compression sleeves.

MCS Medical Compression Systems (DBN) Ltd. (TASE:MDCL) today announced that Cleveland Clinic hospital and research center has ordered an additional 1,100 anti-blood clotting devices. Cleveland Clinic ordered an initial 200 devices for a pilot. The company predicts $1 million a year in current sales of its disposal compression sleeves.

MCS’s device is designed to improve blood circulation in limbs during surgery and afterwards, in order to prevent blood clots. There are several competing products on the market, but they are designed to be used in combination with anti-clotting drugs, whereas MCS believes that its device is effective enough for use without potentially dangerous medication.

Cleveland Clinic has bought MCS’s product for use under the existing protocol (for use in combination with drugs), and will replace devices of a competitor after the 200-unit pilot persuaded the clinic that MCS’s device was more effective.
