E-mail co Gigya raises $4m

Gigya is developing an innovative e-mail solution designed to liven up boring e-mail content.

E-mail solutions start-up Gigya Ltd. has raised $4 million from Benchmark Capital in its first financing round.

Gigya was founded in November 2006 by several former employees of Hotbar Ltd., including Eyal Magen, who serves as CEO, Eran Kutner and Rooly Eliezerov. Gigya is developing an innovative e-mail solution designed to liven up boring e-mail content. The software inserts games, video clips and graphics into e-mails in a way similar to Hotbar’s product. The company’s software makes it possible to include personal pages from MySpace in e-mails.

Gigya’s target audience is young users of e-mail applications.

Hotbar was acquired six months ago by 180 Solutions for $50 million to create Zango Inc.
