Goldman Sachs eyes Ormat

Goldman Sachs: We don't respond to rumors. The Bronicki family has denied that it is in talks with Apax on a sale of its stake.

Sources inform "Globes" that some of the world's leading investment houses have expressed interest in Ormat Industries (TASE: ORMT). Sources close to Ormat said that, among others, Goldman Sachs expressed interest in an allocation of at least 10% of the company. Goldman Sachs said in response, "We don't respond to rumors," while the response from Ormat was "no comment." "Globes" has also learned that various business people are eyeing Ormat, among them Poju Zabludowicz, who is trying to put together a group to negotiate with the Bronickis.

This morning, Ormat was in the eye of the storm after it was reported in the press that the Apax Fund was in talks to buy the company at a value of NIS 8-9 billion, a report the two parties later categorically denied.
