Trig Medical raises several million dollars

The company develops ultrasound imaging systems to provide continuous data on the child during childbirth.

Childbirth ultrasound systems developer Trig Medical Inc. has raised several million dollars in a financing round led by Vitalife Life Sciences Venture, together with Israel Infinity Venture Capital and Kreos Capital. Both Trig Medical and the venture capital funds declined to confirm the report.

Trig Medical develops ultrasound imaging systems to provide continuous data on the child during childbirth, including its position, medical variables, and opening of the mother's cervix. Currently, these variables are not measured continuously, and measurements are taken by more invasive methods, and do not provide full information.

Trig Medical president and CEO Dr. Yoav Paltieli is a senior physician at the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Bnei Zion Medical Center in Haifa. Prior to founding Trig Medical, he founded and managed UltraGuide, an Israeli medical device start-up specializing in image guidance systems for medical applications, which has ceased operations.
