Social networking website Facebook reports an 80% increase in membership of Israelis over the past three months. In November 2007, 210,000 of Facebook's 57 million members worldwide were Israelis; it now has 382,000 Israeli members.
As a proportion of the total population, Facebook has been a resounding success in Israel. Israel has 382,000 Facebook members out of a population of seven million. For the sake of comparison, Germany bas 339,000 Facebook members out of a population of 82 million, and France has 1.05 million Facebook members out of a population of 60 million.
