Dori high-tech park will be green

The Kiryat Arie project will comply with Israel Standard 5281 for the Green Label.

Uri Dori Engineering Works Corp. (TASE: DORI) plans to build an environmentally friendly high-tech park in Kiryat Arie, in Petah Tikva at an investment of NIS 500 million.

Dori plans to build seven eight-storey office buildings with an aggregate 52,000 square meters of space. The buildings' construction and maintenance will comply with Israel Standard 5281 for buildings with reduced environmental impact. Compliance with the standard permits buildings to obtain the Israeli Standards Institution's Green Label. The Ministry of Environmental Protection and the Standards Institution jointly apply the Green Label for architects, developers, and contractors.

Dori's development aims to maximize savings in power and water, and minimize noise. The buildings will use special glass to maximize natural light, thereby reducing air conditioning and interior lighting. The buildings will have green roofs that will use recycled water from the air conditioning systems. The buildings are also designed to reduce ground pollution and avoid being landscape eyesores.

Dori is managed by chairman and CEO Uri Dori. Gazit-Globe Ltd. (TASE: GLOB), controlled by chairman Chaim Katzman, owns 50% of Acad Building & Investments Ltd., which owns 76% of Dori, while Uri Dori owns the other half.
