Mifal Hapayis to operate online lottery

Greek company Intralot SA will provide a new interactive system, E-Payis.

Mifal Hapayis - Israel National Lottery, one of only two entities in Israel licensed to operate gambling services (the other being the Israel Sports Betting Board) will start running online lotteries in five-six months time.

Following a tender, Mifal Hapayis signed a contract with Greek company Intralot SA for the design, development, supply and maintenance of a new interactive system, E-Payis.

The new E-Payis system will provide access to lottery’s customers, through alternative channels, for participating in online games. The new system will be based on Intralot’s B-On platform. The new system will support five main games: Chance, 777, Keno, 123 and Lotto, including its variations (regular, subscriber, and group) and will support four languages, Hebrew, Russian, Arabic and English.

The system will interface with the existing systems of Mifal Hapayis (CRM, data warehouse, accounting, central system) as well as with third party electronic payment providers and network operators. Mifal Hapayis expects to launch the new E-Payis system by the first quarter of 2006.

Mifal Hapyis had NIS 3.05 billion revenue last year. It estimates that Internet-based lotteries will raise its revenue by NIS 100 million in the first year, and by NIS 250-300 million within 3-5 years.
