This is the first approval for Rimon in any of the European Union countries where EU registration procedures apply.
The Italian Ministry of Agriculture has approved MA Industries'(Makhteshim Agan) (TASE: MAIN) proprietary insecticide Rimon for use and sale. Rimon contains the active ingredient Novaluron.
The approval is for use in potato crops. MA Industries said it was working to broaden the approval to include uses in other crops. This is the first approval for Rimon in any of the European Union countries where EU registration procedures apply. MA Industries says it is confident that this approval will assist in expanding operations involving Rimon in other EU countries.
In the first nine months of 2005, MA Industries had sales of $1,335.6 million and a net profit of $158.4 million.
