High-tech salaries rise

Average salaries in high-tech sectors rose by 0.2-4.3% in July 2006.

Average salaries in high-tech sectors rose by 0.2-4.3% in July 2006, the Central Bureau of Statistics reports.

The average salary in the electronic communications equipment sector rose from NIS 18,765 in June to NIS 19,579, an increase of NIS 814, the largest increase in high-tech. The smallest increase was in the R&D sector, where the average salary rose 0.2%, or NIS 31, from NIS 18,136 in June to NIS 18,167 in July.

The average salary in the advanced medical and scientific equipment and control and supervision equipment sectors rose 3.1%, or NIS 543, from NIS 18,277 in June to NIS 17,820. The lowest average high-tech salary is in the computer services sector, which sectors rose 3.1%, or NIS 487, from NIS 15,723 in June to NIS 16,210.

Average salaries in high-tech sectors are 2.2-2.4 times the average national salary.
