Arotech wins orders worth $2m for rechargeable batteries

With this recent order, the company’s battery backlog is now just under $10 million.

Arotech Corporation (Nasdaq: ARTX) today announced that its battery and power systems division had received $2 million in additional primary and rechargeable battery orders from various countries.

The orders include a combination of Lithium Ion and Zinc Air batteries that will be used to power communications equipment for military personnel. Delivery is expected to begin this year and will be completed in 2007. With this recent order, battery backlog is now just under $10 million.

Arotech chairman and CEO Robert S. Ehrlich said, “We are delighted the demand for our primary and rechargeable products continues to be strong and are excited about new opportunities being provided to the company.” He added, “Arotech's backlog continued at a record pace, surpassing $50 million.''
