Thomas Cook eyes Israel as destination

Company officials: We plan to visit Israel to discuss a possible marketing agreement.

International tourism services company Thomas Cook has expressed an interest in adding Israel to its list of destinations. Company officials told Ministry of Tourism director general Nahum Itzkovitz that they planned to visit Israel to discuss a possible marketing agreement.

Thomas Cook was founded in 1841, and currently markets over 1,000 holiday destinations worldwide. It is the world’s second largest tourism services company after Germany’s TUI AG. The company operates Thomas Cook Airlines, Thomas Cook TV, a publishing company, and money changing services.

In a separate development, Carlson Wagonlit Travel has also announced that it wants to put Israel onto its tourism destinations map.
