Access Israel founder wins 2006 Social Entrepreneurship Award

Lieutenant Colonel (Res) Yuval Wagner was given the award for his work on behalf of disabled people in Israel.

The “Globes” 2006 Social Entrepreneurship award was awarded last night to Lieutenant Colonel (Res) Yuval Wagner, founder of the charity Access Israel, for his work on behalf of disabled people and their rights.

Accepting the award Wagner said, “There are 200,000 people in Israel with severe disabilities. I want things to be accessible for all of us. It can happen to anyone."

Addressing the opening session of the Israel Business Conference, “Globes” CEO Eitan Madmon said, “Our platforms provide not just business information, but also topics that reflect on the current public mood. A gap has opened up between the business community and the public at large, and this gap can be closed. This conference will look at how this can be achieved and how social issues should be addressed. These are issues that the business community should be looking at as it has a key role to play and it must be proactive.”
