Google Israel launches Hebrew AdSense

The program generates revenue for website owners by placing content-based ads.

Google Israel has launched a Hebrew-language version of AdSense for Content, enabling bloggers and website owners to place content-based ads on their sites, which will generate revenue. Google Israel registers the users, who receive a code for insertion into their websites at a point of their choosing.

AdSense for Content automatically pops up relevant advertisements for the website and each of its pages. Google scans the page, identifies key words, and places advertisements accordingly. The website owners receive a portion of revenue from the ads, via a pay-per-click or pay-per-1000-clicks method. The minimum payment is $100, which Google pays into the subscriber’s bank account, or else sends a check.

AdSense Hebrew is part of Google Inc.’s (Nasdaq:GOOG) AdSense program, which includes AdSense for Search. Google Israel launched a Hebrew-language AdSense for Search last year. AdSense for Search allows a website to place a Google search line on web pages to generate revenue from text ads.

Google Israel general manager Meir Brand said, “Israel has a bustling website community, and we’re excited by the possibility of launching AdSense for Content, and empower website owners with an easy-to-use and economically viable solution.”

Google Israel is now marking its first anniversary. The company has since founded an R&D center in Haifa, headed by Dr. Yoelle S. Maarek, and an R&D center in Tel Aviv, headed by Moshe Mattias. Google has launched several Hebrew versions of its products, including Google News, and customized search histories.
