RA Erez begins trial at Hadassah Hospital

The company has developed an automated CPR device.

RA Erez Systems Ltd. has begun a trial of its flagship product, an automated CPR device, at Hadassah Hospital in Ein Kerem in Jerusalem. The mechanized device enables continuous compressions, at pressure and rate levels based on the real time physiological state of a patient, and also monitors the performance of the device and the progress of the patient.

Several clinical studies have shown that applying an interposed compression cycle to both the chest and abdominal areas has significant hemodynamic advantages to the resuscitation process and may increase chances of patient survival. In addition, The American Heart Association guidelines published in November 2005 call for rapid, minimally interrupted chest compressions.

RA Erez CEO Nadav Malchi said, “There are other mechanized CPR devices on the market. However, the force and rate of compressions applied by these machines are the same for all, be the patient a 65-year-old female with osteoporosis or a fit 25-year-old male. The added value of the RA Erez’s automated CPR device is that it first defines the physiological characteristics of the patient’s ribcage. Then it sets the conformed level of forces and frequency which are necessary to delivering an optimal chest compression treatment for each individual subject.”
