Gaydamak to control Bikur Holim from November

Gaydamak is reportedly planning to spend several million dollars on upgrading Bikur Holim hospital this year.

Arcadi Gaydamak will take over as owner of the Bikur Holim hospital from November 1. He agreed the terms of his takeover on Sunday with the hospital's liquidator Adv. Shlomo Shahar, following the approval of the sale last Wednesday by the Jerusalem District Court. Gaydamak has undertaken to transfer $32 million to Shahar for the acquistion of the hospital by the beginning of November.

Gaydamak toured the hospital on Sunday and met its director general Bari Bar-Zion. He told Bar-Zion that he intended to invest in the hospital and expand its nursing and medical teams, and stressed that he was committed to the hospital's continued operation in Jerusalem for many more years.
