Fischer is a member of the G-30. The current G-30 chairman is former Governor of the Bank of Israel Jacob Frenkel. He hosted the G-30 in Israel in 1991.

G-30 members include former Federal Reserve Board chairman Paul A. Volcker; Banco de Mexico Governor Guillermo Ortiz Martinez; Italian Minister of Economy and Finance Tommaso Padoa-Schioppa; Governor of the Bank of England Mervyn King; European Central Bank President Jean-Claude Trichet; Governor of the People's Bank of China Zhou Xiaochuan; Federal Reserve Bank of New York president and CEO Timothy F. Geithner; Former Deputy Governor of the Bank of Japan Yutaka Yamaguchi; former President of Mexico Ernesto Zedillo, now director of the Yale Center for the Study of Globalization; Citigroup senior vice chairman William R. Rhodes; and Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development chairman Abdulatif Al-Hamad, a former Kuwaiti Minister of Finance.

The G-30 meeting will be held on May-24-26. Prime Minister Ehud Olmert and Minister of Finance Ronnie Bar-On will probably participate.
