ooVoo to invest in Israeli content

Content will include high quality video and audio chat rooms about Israeli and international celebrities.

Sources inform ''Globes'' that video Internet company ooVoo Communications Ltd. is in negotiations to produce original Israeli content for its website, and on websites of prominent Israeli broadcasters.

ooVoo plans to invest $500,000 in Israeli content, including very high quality video and audio chat rooms about Israeli and international celebrities. ooVoo has hired PR firm Dani.El Communications Ltd. as a consultant for this program. ooVoo Israel manager Daniel Yelin told "Globes" that Dani.El was hired because of its expertise in new media and content.

ooVoo is a free video chat program that offers users real-time video conversations with up to six persons. The software also sends video clips directly or via e-mail, which can be viewed by people who do not download the software. These video messages can be uploaded to any video sharing site or personal blog.

ooVoo was founded in 2006, and claims to have hundreds of thousands of users in over 200 countries. The product was developed in Israel and sold to a private equity fund, whose identity the company is keeping confidential.
