Google dips in Israel hits

"Globes" registers a 56% jump in Internet exposure.

Google's status as the most viewed website in Israel weakened slightly in December, according to a TIM/Teleseker which measures weekly exposure rates among Israeli websites. Google had a weekly exposure rate of 87.8% in December, compared with 90.6% in October.

Walla Communications Ltd. (TASE: WALA) was ranked second with a weekly exposure rate of 73%, up from 72.5% in October, followed by Ynet which had a weekly exposure rate of 63%, compared with 57.9% in October. In fourth place was MSN with a slight improvement in exposure, up to 32.9% in December from 31% in October.

In the financial website category, "Globes" rose 14.8% in December, completing a 56% jump in 2007 as a whole.

Four million people aged 13 and upward now use the Internet in Israel, an increase of 2% compared with December 2006.
