Israeli universities, industry to establish new research labs
The laboratories will be based at Ben Gurion University of the Negev and the Weizmann Institute of Science.

Two Israeli universities are to launch technological laboratories with industrial applications in cooperation with leading international partners. Ben Gurion University of the Negev has announced the launch of an enterprise resource systems laboratory in cooperation with software giant Oracle Corp. (Nasdaq: ORCL) at an investment of a several million shekels. Oracle has provided all the equipment for the laboratory plus an additional donation of NIS 500,000.
The other laboratory is a joint venture between Israel and Italy, operating out of the Weizmann Institute of Science, and the European Laboratory for Non-Linear Spectroscopy in Italy, which will focus on nanotechnology research. Around €250,000 has been invested in this project so far.
