Prime Minister Ehud Olmert told the cabinet today that there will be a decision made tomorrow on the safety net for pension funds. After hearing Minister of Finance Ronnie Bar-On set out the government's economic stimulus plan, Olmert said. "What still remains, is to decide about the pension savings."
Olmert stressed the decision will be taken, as previously committed, by tomorrow, in a forum comprising the Minister of Finance, Governor of the Bank of Israel, and the Prime Minister. "Any decision must be taken without being influenced by political matters and according to the economic situation. So far we have behaved with commendable restraint and the required speed," Olmert added.
