Aeronautics in Dutch UAV deal

The Royal Dutch Army will use the company's Aerostar tactical UAV in Afghanistan.

Aeronautics Defense Systems Ltd. has signed a NIS 200 million contract for its Aerostar Tactical Unmanned Air Vehicle (UAV) with the Dutch Ministry of Defense for use by the Royal Dutch Army in Afghanistan.

Aeronautics president Avi Leumi said that the company will provide operating services through a UK security company. Deliveries will be made later this year. The Dutch Army is serving as part of the NATO-led International Security Assistance Force in Afghanistan.

The IAF, the US Army, and other militaries already use the Aerostar for real-time intelligence gathering.

Leumi, Avi and Aharon Shaked, and Moshe Caspi own Aeronautics Defense Systems.
