Eldad Spivak Engineering Ltd. has won an Israel Railways tender to oversee construction of sections B and C of the high-speed railway line between Tel Aviv and Jerusalem. Eldad Spivak will provide Israel Railways with administrative, coordination, planning control, supervision, and quality control services for these two sections.
Sections B and C of the high-speed railway line will cost an estimated NIS 2.2 billion to build. Israel Railways decided last month to publish a tender for the construction of Section B of the high-speed rail link, between Emek Ayalon and Sha'ar Hagay at the entrance to the Judean Mountains, despite objections by environmental groups.
Section C of the line, which includes the digging of tunnels, is due to be built by Shafir Civil and Marine Engineering Ltd. and an Austrian firm [probably Alpine Bau GmbH] The project is the largest and most complex of its kind, from an engineering perspective, ever carried out in Israel.
