The “Globes” Israel Business Conference 2009 will include a forum called “Cleantech from Copenhagen to Jerusalem". The forum is in collaboration with the Milken Institute and “Globes” Research.

The “Globes” Israel Business Conference 2009 will be held December 13-14 at the David Intercontinental Hotel in Tel Aviv. Sessions will be simultaneously translated into English.
The forum will review how Israel can become a global leader in cleantech, after the Copenhagen Climate Change Conference. The forum will also review how to prepare to meet European targets of greenhouse gas reduction, as well as other related issues.
The panel will be held in the presence of Minister of Environmental Protection MK Gilad Erdan and Minster of National Infrastructures Dr. Uzi Landau. Taking part in the panel will be Dr. Ofira Ayalon, energy and environment projects manager at the Samuel Neaman Institute; Booky Oren, chairman of the Arison Group’s Miya water venture; AquAgro fund managing partner Hillel Milo; Asher Greenbaum, chairman of the chemical, pharmaceutical and environmental society of the Manufacturers’ Association of Israel; and Shlomo Group founder and chairman Shlomo Shmeltzer.
The forum will be moderated by the Milken Institute’s director of capital studies Prof. Glenn Yago. Yago is a distinguished expert in financial innovations, capital markets, developing markets, and environmental financing. He focuses on the innovative use of financial instruments to meet the challenges of social, environmental, and economic development. His work has contributed to the democratization of capital in markets and ventures that were previously underserved, in the US and around the world. Yago has written five books, and his articles have been published in the Wall Street Journal and the Los Angeles Times.
