Israel Navy invests NIS 800,000 in virtualization system

The system will save NIS 1.6 million a year.

The Israel Navy has invested NIS 800,000 in a virtualization system that is expected to save NIS 1.6 million a year. The Navy reached the point that its computerization needs required more resources, and it decided to install at its server farm a Microsoft HyperV-based virtualization system.

The IDF said, "The financial savings come from the servers lower electricity consumption, the merged capacity, lower heat emission, and the floor space, as well as the purchase of licenses for the operating system.
